UPN And The WB Announce Their Fall Schedules

This week we conclude our look at the new fall schedules for the major broadcast networks with a look at the new series on UPN and the WB. The good folks at Ultimate TV.Com have again done their usual outstanding job of covering the press conferences of both UPN and the WB when they announced their new fall schedules. (Something I was unable to attend this year.) Their coverage contains a complete schedule of each network, photos and plot synopsis.

This Week in TV History: June 27, 1999 marks the 50th anniversary of the premiere of CAPTAIN VIDEO. This series was the longest running of the early science fiction series. The budgets were low but the series was high on adventure. Richard Coogan starred as Captain Video who lead a group of "video rangers" in the 22nd century.

Sunday, June 27th MEAN STREAK, SHOWTIME, 9:00 ­ 10:35 p.m., PST Scott Bakula and Howard Dell star in this chilling thriller about a serial killer who is targeting African Americans in reprisal for an African American baseball star getting close to breaking Joe DiMagios famed 56 game hitting streak.

X-FILES, FOX, 9:00 ­ 10:00 p.m., PST Darren McGavin (aka Karl Kolchak from the classic KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER tv series of the 70s) guests on this episode.

Monday, June 28th CASINO TECH, Discovery Channel, 8:00 ­ 9:00 p.m., PST See how gambling casinos protect themselves against thieves and cheaters.

BIOGRAPHY, Art and Entertainment, 9:00 ­ 10:00 p.m., PST Noted actor Charlton Heston is profiled.
