C-SPAN Offers Viewers Top Notch Political Coverage

Thanks to the advent of cable television, there is literally a cable channel to fill almost every niche imaginable. For news and political junkies, few channels can top C-SPAN and C-SPAN2. Created by the cable television industry, the C-SPAN networks offer a variety of public service programming including televised sessions of congress, author interviews, political speeches, news briefings and call-in shows.

Unlike the major television networks, C-SPAN broadcasts these programs in their entirety. The public would never see most of these press conferences etc. if it were not for C-SPAN.

In my role as a television columnist at Suite101.COM I routinely receive press releases spotlighting the programming on various networks, including C-SPAN. This week I¹m printing one of their releases in their entirety. Even if you are only mildly interested in politics and current affairs, I urge you to take a look at it. I guarantee you will find at least one program worth watching. My regular features including this week in tv history, tv-related birthdays and my tv viewing recommendations will follow. Enjoy.
