This week is a particularly eventful week for television. Sunday, Sept. 11th is the fourth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on America. All the major networks plan coverage marking the event.
Many of the news organizations provided outstanding coverage of the tragic events in the Gulf Coast these past two weeks. Some members of the media grew a spine and actually confronted various government officials with hard questioning when they gave incorrect information during their press conferences. The media should be doing this all the time, not just during a natural disaster. For up-to-date information on remembering the events of 9/11 and the recovery efforts for Hurricane Katrina, visit: ABC News: abcnews.go.com/sections/politics BBC World News: http://news.bbc.co.uk/ CBS News: http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/politics... However, some of the ones that I have previewed standout. They are: "Prison Break" - This series has already debuted and airs Mondays on FOX from 9 - 10 p.m. One brother has been framed for murdering the brother of the vice president and has been sentenced to be executed. The other brother devises an elaborate escape plan and commits a crime so he can be sentenced to the same prison that his brother is in. Once inside, he tries to break his brother out of prison so they can figure out who framed him and why. So far, the series is very engaging. "Invasion" - Debuts Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 10 - 11 on ABC. Shaun Cassidy, "American Gothic," created and produced this series about an alien invasion the occurs during a Florida Hurricane. I've seen the pilot and it is the best of the new season. ABC may delay the debut, however, out of respect for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. "Threshold" - Debuts Friday, Sept. 16 from 9 - 10 p.m. This series is about a team of scientists who make first contact with an alien life form. Brent Spiner, who played Data on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," is among the cast. It is produced by David Heyman, who also produces the "Harry Potter" films. This is the second best of the preview pilots I have seen this season.
