Television Goes to the OscarsIronically, this fourth year has been by far the best written and most creative year of the series. The producers brought in several authors of the "Star Trek" novels. The results have been better science fiction stories, stronger character development and a concerted effort to fill in many of the blanks prior to the classic series. ("Enterprise" is set before the original "Star Trek" series which aired on NBC in the 1960s. "Enterprise" was in ratings trouble last season but Paramount and Viacomm lowered production fees and brought the series back for a fourth season to ensure a healthy supply of episodes for syndication and DVD sales. Among other things, those trying to save "Enterprise" are asking fans to write letters, FAX and e-mail sponsors and the powers that be at Paramount, UPN and Viacomm. Rallies are planned in New York and Los Angeles on Saturday, February 25th.
