BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, WB, 8:00 - 9:00 p.m., PST
The third season finds lots of changes for Buffy. Mom has kicked her out of the house and she has left Sunnydale to start a new life. She is forced to reexamine her life, however, when she encounters an evil stranger who is preying on homeless teens. The battle literally takes Buffy to hell and back.
FELICITY, WB, 9:00 - 10:00 p.m., PST
This new series follows the adventures of a young woman as she goes off to college. I haven¹t seen the pilot episode yet but a friend of mine did and he highly recommends it. The series has been referred to by some TV critics as ALLY MCBEAL GOES TO COLLEGE.
SPORTS NIGHT, ABC, 9:30 - 10:00 p.m., PST
This is the second episode of the promising new series about the goings on at a national nightly sports show. The writing is excellent and you don¹t need to be a sports fan to enjoy it, though it certainly adds to your enjoyment if you are.
Wednesday, September 30th
GREAT PERFORMANCES: A TRIBUTE TO GEORGE GERSHWIN, PBS, 8:00 - 10:00 p.m., PST
In honor of the 100th anniversary of his birth, PBS offers an outstanding tribute to one of the most prolific and popular composers in American history: George Gershwin. Selections include music from AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, RAGTIME and PORGY AND BESS. This one is definitely worth taping.
DREW CAREY, ABC, 9:00 - 9:30 p.m., PST
Drew and his band hold guitar auditions. Several top-notch rockers drop by to try out. This will no doubt be one of the season highlights for the popular comedy series.
CHICAGO HOPE, CBS, 10:00 - 11:00 p.m., PST
The fifth season begins with staff members facing several major ethical decisions. ER members must also deal with a sarin-gas attack at a local bank.
Thursday, October 1st
PROMISED LAND, CBS, 8:00 - 9:00 p.m., PST
The series begins its third season with the conclusion of a two-part episode which began on last Sunday¹s TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL. The Greenes nephew Nathaniel has been kidnapped by a family member of a man who Nathaniels father accidentally killed last season.
