It is almost November, only two months until 2002. At the beginning of the year, I challenged readers to make a commitment to finding a way to work at home in 2001. Since it can take more than a year to achieve this goal, this year was designed to help you create your goals and the habit of working on your goals, so that by the end of the year you would be that much closer to achieving them. As the year has progressed, I have tried to offer helpful ideas, tips and inspiration to help you find and obtain a work-at-home job, and avoid scams. Has it worked? Have you developed your goals and created an action plan? Are closer to your goal now than you were at the beginning of the year? If not, what has prevented you from working on it? Is time a factor? Still haven't found the opportunity or idea that you want to try? Whatever the reason, now is a good time to kick start your dream. I can hear you saying: NOW is a good time? But the holidays are coming! The weather is changing! The economy is suffering! All these things are true. And I will admit they are formidable obstacles. But, there will always be something happening in your life that you can use as an excuse to not work on your dream. Here are some tips to help you achieve your dream in as little as a few minutes a day:
1) One of my goals is to do one thing each day that is related to my goal. Perhaps it is to make make one phone call or send out one resume. Doing one thing can take just a few minutes and yet it will put you one task closer to achieving your goal.
2) Another key is to schedule that one thing each day. If you don't make time for it, it won't happen because the rest of your hectic life will take all your time. If you make time to do one thing starting today, you will have completed 60 tasks by the end of year. Surely 60 phone calls or 60 resumes or whatever you choose to do towards meeting your goal will create positive results.
3) Keep track of what you have done. This can be as easy as making a list and checking off competed items. By doing this you will save time trying to figure out what you have already done and therefore what is left to do. Further, you can easily identify tasks that get results versus those that do not.
