According to Jobs At Home: A Complete Guide to Finding or Creating a Work-At-Home Job, the work-at-home agreement must be written and it needs to outline all the details of the work-at-home arrangement. If you prepared a work-at-home proposal, it can be your outline. Essentially the agreement should cover:

1) The names of the parties involved.

2) The days and times you will be working at home.

3) The date your new work-at-home arrangement will commence.

4) The date your new arrangement will be evaluated.

5) The location of your office (home address).

6) The equipment your company will be supplying.

7) A list of who will be paying for what expenses such as additional phone lines or equipment.

8) Childcare arrangements if this is a concern of your boss'.

9) Duties you will be responsible for while working at home.

10) Your contact information such as phone, fax and email.

11) How you will report your work progress and how often you will submit reports.

12) Any other issues you or your boss deems important.

Many people who finally succeed at finding a way to work-at-home get so caught up in having found work, they fail to take action to protect themselves. But without a proper contract or agreement, you are working without a net. Protect your job and yourself by insisting all work-related details be clearly outlined and signed by you and your company.
