Detention

Detention is a cartoon about a certain class of weird kids that are always getting into trouble. I personally find the characters to extravagant, and some too stereotypical.

There aren’t that many main characters, so I’ll name all that I can think of. Their names are Shareena Wicket, Emmit Roswell, Duncan Bubble, Gug, Jim Kim, Shelly Kelly, Lemonjella and Orangejella LaBelle.

Shareena is the main character of the series, and one of the more normal ones. She’s the type of person who thinks everyone would look good in black, and would rather read a book, or do homework than hang with the “Cool” kids at the movies, or something like that. She also has a pet pig, how is more like a little sibling than a pet. Emmit is one of the weird yet genius kids that go to Benedict Arnold Middle school. He’s convinced that there’s life on other planets. He spends most of his time building alien catching devices out of spare parts. He’s an engineering genius, even if he uses his intellect for rather weird things. Duncan is the quiet type, who never speaks a word, and yet, because of his prowess at the Yo-Yo he can spell words out with it. However, despite his quietness, he often gets the other kids out of jams with his yo-yo abilities. Gug is the seventh child out of seven, and to top it off, he’s the only boy. However, even though he’s height challenged, he still makes the best of things with his tough attitude. Jim is the REALLY weird kid in the school. He spends all his time reading comic books, and wishing he was a super hero. He’s forever getting grounded for being swept up in his daydreams that he’s Batman, or Superman, and that his mission is to destroy the boring teachers that are trying to melt his brain into mush. Shelly is one of the most annoying people you could ever meet. She is goody two shoes to the max! She wears her nerdy ladybug scout uniform day in and day out, and is always the strict hall moniter. She just happens to have a heavy crush on Emmit, for some reason, so he usually uses her to help them get past the teachers and the rules. Lemonjella and Orangejella are twins, of course, and semi-stereotypical. They’re both genius’, but they’re no nerds. Both are popular, and have a fashion sense as well as a knowledge of what’s going on. Despite their being twins, one likes pop culture, while the other enjoys great literature. But
