Monster Rancher

Monster Rancher is an interesting show about an eleven-year-old boy, Genki, who gets sucked into his favorite video game. But, little did he know, that there is a battle taking place in the video game land. An evil monster named Moo is trying to take over the world by turning good monsters into to baddies. Genki soon befriends a teenage girl, Holly, along with her monster, Suezo, and joins them in their search for the Pheonix.

The main characters in the series are Genki, Holly, Suezo, Mocchi, Golem, Tiger, Hare, Moo, Pixie, Gali, and Grey Wolf. Genki is the over-enthusiastic kid who gets sucked into his favorite video game. Just because he's not a monster and doesn't have special attacks doesn't mean he can't fight. When he puts on his roller blades, he can inflict nearly as much damage as a monster!

Holly is a quiet girl, who, even though she doesn't fight, is the only one that can use the magical stone. With the magical stone she can lead the others to the Pheonix.

Suezo is a cowardly monster, but, thanks to his giant eyeball, which takes up most of his body, he can see things at an incredible distance. He also has a useful attack and even though it doesn't really do any damage, it's still useful. His attack is teleportation. He often uses it to teleport out of the way of an attack or behind someone and then slap them with his tongue while they're not looking.

Mocchi is a cute monster with some powerful attacks. He gets scared pretty easily if his friends are in danger and he can give the baddies a taste of his cherry blossom blizzard or his Mocchi cannon.

Golem is a gigantic rock monster that would much rather sniff flowers or feed birds than fight. He was once the keeper of lost disks, which are monsters that died. But, then he decided the go with Genki and Holly.

Tiger's full name is actually Tiger of the Wind. The main reason he joined up with Genki was to get back at Moo for turning his brother, Grey Wolf, into a baddie. Agile, sleek, daring, and easily-angered, Tiger mainly just wants to fight and beat the stuffing out of the baddies. With his powerful lightning attack, if it weren't for Genki, that's exactly what he would do.

Hare is a true con artist, whose main objective is usually gold. He and Tiger are usually at each others throats. If the others didn't stop them, they would probably kill, or at least severely injure, each other.

I agree that parents should watch Monster Rancher, and any show their kids watch and decide for themselves if it is age appropiate. Unfortunately, time is usually crunched for all of us in ...
