The Land before Time movies are about dinosaurs, in everyday prehistoric life. They are cartoon movies that were meant for kids ages three through eight. The Land before Time I has several main characters, that appear one after another. The fist main character is a young Brontosaurus, or, longneck as they call it, named Littlefoot. The second main character is Sarah, a Triceratops, or, threehorn. The next is Ducky, a duckbilled dinosaur. The fourth is Petri, a pterodactyl. The fifth is a plant eater named Spike.
Littlefoot is a spunky kid who got separated from his Grandfather and Grandmother. However, he remembered the way to the Great Valley, which is where all the other dinosaurs are going, and starts on a trek to get there. On the way he see's Sarah, but is disappointed when she doesn't want to come with him. Later on, he meets Ducky, who comes with him on his journey. Later on he meets Petri, who is ashamed because he can't fly. Then later still, Ducky finds a lone egg, just as it hatches, and she names the newborn Spike, who comes with them also. Later on, they see Sarah again, who claims to have stopped a T-rex. But they meet that T-rex later and stop once and for all. Then Sarah comes with them and they make their way to the Great Valley. In the Land before Time II, the group of youngsters find an egg in the jungle, and when it hatches a baby T-rex comes out. The group tries to take care of it, but they keep getting into trouble. They go after two Dinosaurs that stole one of Ducky's unhatched siblings, and follow them into the mysterious beyond, the walled off area that the T-rex's, and the Raptors and the other carnivores live. They accidently knock down the huge pile of stones the blocks the entrance to the valley, letting to T-rex's in. The baby T-rex, which they named Chomper, finds the two T-rex's, which are his parents, and they leave the Great Valley. The dinosaurs that live in the valley work together to seal off the entrance. The movies are rated Y, and that's about right. Even though some scenes are a little scary, they're not bad. The one thing I don't like about the first one is that the T-rex kills Littlefoot's mother, and they even show the battle. There are all together about six or seven different Land before Time movies, so next time I'll be reviewing more of them. Go To Page: 1
