Animaniacs

Animaniacs is a half hour show about three kids who look like puppies, and are weirder then you can imagine. The main characters are Yakko, Wakko, Dot, Mr. Plotz, Ralph, Dr. Scratchinsniff, Pinky, Brain, Mindy, Buttons, Rita, Runt, Skippy, and Slappy. Yakko is the oldest of the warners, and likes to talk. He's not quite as Zany as the Wakko, but then, Wakko's name says it all. Wakko, as I just said, is the craziest, and always has weird ideas. Sometimes he does symphonys as the great Wakkorotti, but they're usually just him burping, or squeaking his gloves. Dot is Yakko's and Wakko's sister, and she likes to scare people by showing them her "pet". Her pet is usually some monster in a tiny box. Mr. Plotz is the owner of Warner Brothers, and his studio lot is always getting destroyed by the Warners. Ralph is the security guard who has to keep the warners under control, and he usually doesn't succeed for very long in that aspect. Dr. Scratchinsniff is the Warners doctor, who tries to teach the warners manners, and how to behave properly.

Pinky is a diminuitive mouse who always messes up Brains plans for world domination. Brain is a lab mouse that has a higher intellect then Albert Einstein, and his ultimate goal is to take over the world. Mindy is a little girl who always wonders off and nearly gets herself killed. Buttons is Mindy's dog, and if it weren't for him, Mindy would probably be street Pizza. Rita is a cat who likes to sing, and travels the world looking for a home. Runt is the dog that travels with her, and if his IQ were higher then a rock he would realize Rita was a cat, not a dog. Skippy is a cheerful little squirrel that tries to control his aunt Slappyl's mean streaks. Slappy is a cranky old squirrel who likes to blow up her arch-enemies (Don't worry, they just become a pile of dust, and then are fine in the next scene).

The cartoon takes place in tons of different time zones and places. They go every from ancient Greece to space, in the year 4279. The main problem, though, is they get stuck in a rut. It's usually always an anvil, or a piano falling on the bad guys. The TV rating is Y7, and that's about right. What parents should watch for though are the occasional crude jokes, and the cartoony violence.
