Garfield and Friends

Garfield and Friends is a hilarious show about the fat feline himself, Garfield. The Garfield comic strip was created by a man named Jim Davis. During the first few months Garfield was just another comic strip, but in later years the Garfield craze hit. Nearly every car had one of those suction cup Garfield dolls, and the comic strip even got its own show, Garfield and Friends.

There are several characters; some appear only in certain shows, others only once. The ones that manage to stick around for several episodes are; Garfield, Jon Arbuckle, Odie, Nermal, Binky the Clown, the buddy Bears, and the Mailman. Not to mention the ever present pans of lasagna. Garfield (as you probably know) is a useless, fat cat who eats to much, sleeps to much, terrorizes Odie to much, mails Nermal to Abu Dhabi to much, and mangles the mailman to much. But despite all this uselessness he manages to be funny. Jon Arbuckle is a pathetic loser, a mindless drip. He always tries to get a date, and rarely succeeds. Odie is a mindless dog, who, as Garfield says, is that if he were a car he'd be stuck in neutral. All he does is pester Garfield and slobber. Nermal is the "Annoyingly cute little kitten." He's always get beat up by Garfield because he can't stand Nermal's cuteness.

Binky the Clown is usually Garfield's last resort when he watches TV, and while he's on the show he annoys all the other characters with his crazy antics. The buddy Bears are three bears that never disagree. Their song and beliefs are very wrong. The last part of their opening song is "If you ever disagree, it means that you are wrong." They're the ones who usually try to teach you things, or try to correct Garfield's ways. The Mailman is usually the one who takes the most beatings. Garfield has a sort of disliking to the mailman, and usually traps him or maims him in one way or another.

The show has a variety of plots, most of them are of Jon actually trying to get a date and having Garfield mess it up, or Jon getting a date and Garfield messing it up, or Nermal does something Garfield doesn't like so he mails Nermal to Abu Dhabi. The ones they seem to like the most are of Jon's recipes going wrong and the food becomes mutated and tries to eat Jon, Garfield and Odie. Garfield usually saves the day by getting some sort of food product that would well with it, like ketchup or tarter sauce.
