Join A Support Group: There are so many support groups for young moms, stay-at-home moms, working moms, single moms, and married moms. There are support groups to help you feel that you are not "just a mom."
There is a wonderful support group for moms called The International Moms Club. This club is just about all over the world. You could check them out at http://www.momsclub.org and take a look at their website. You can also find out if a Moms Club is in your area by going to the above link. If there isn't one you can start one.

Or, if you want, you can always start a support group of your own. Check out this link: http://www.suite101.com/course.cfm/17572...
Check Your Local Listings: Go to your local church, recreation center, YMCA, library, pre-schools, hospitals, and look in the phone book. Every state and town has Mommy and Me groups.
Go to the Park: There are so many moms at the park. Start a conversation with someone. You never know who you could meet at a local park. Be careful and trust your instincts.
Place an Ad: Place an ad in the paper. "Looking for Moms with kids 18 months and younger to form a playgroup (your child's age.)" Leave your phone number, but meet at a local place first. Call your local paper; if you place it in the right spot the ad may be free of charge.
Planned Parenthood: Go to your local health department and sign up for some programs. This is a great way to meet people and at the same time receive the help you need.
Local Library: Check to see if your local library has story time. This is a great way for both you and your child to connect with eachother, and at the same time meet other parents. If your library doesn't have one-request to start one.
