The Sub Folder

ADDITIONAL ASSIGNMENT IDEAS:

1. Vocabulary lesson or vocabulary crossword puzzle
must be updated frequently

2. Photocopied short stories with questions to be answered at the end and/or a journal entry question following.
doesn't have to be updated until it's been used

3. Worksheet or test review/study guide to be filled in
must be updated frequently to "fit" the chapter/skills being studied

4. Journaling excercise. A good resource that can be placed right into the folder is: Writing Down the Days: 365 Journaling Excercises
With this book in the sub folder, the extra assignment will never need to be updated!

5. Videotape of a literary classic [short story, play, or novel]. include info. about location of audio/video equipment
great because the activity can last for 2 days, is hard to "mess up," and doesn't need to be updated unless you've been out and it's been used.
some good ones to try: short stories: The Jilting of Granny Weatherall, The Revolt of Mother, Bernice Bobs Her Hair, The Electric Grandmother. longer selections: Where the Red Fern Grows, The Trip to Bountiful, A Man for All Seasons
