You will see that there are probably a number of different things already there. These are usually things that AOL would like for you to have quick and easy access to. If you will look at the icon next to the description you'll see that it's either a heart or a folder. A heart is a single item while a folder is most likely several items. You can keep these pre-entered Favorites or you can delete them.
If you choose to delete these pre-entered spots you can do it easily by clicking on the icon and then clicking the delete key. You should also be able to right click the icon and choose Delete. You will get a box that asks are you sure you want to delete that item. Check to make sure that the correct item behind the box is highlighted and if you want to delete it click "yes". If you have accidently tried to delete the wrong item simply choose "no" and that item is restored.
Please look carefully at the folders AOL has already placed in your Favorites. I suggest keeping anything about Safety or Member Benefits. You just never know when this information may come in handy. You can choose to keep the folders closed and then only access them when you have a question or concern. It's much easier to use these folders within your Favorites then have to go searching for something.
Adding Folders is so easy with the Favorite Places. Simply click on the New button at the bottom of the box. In AOL 7.0 you will get a response box that asks you to choose if this is a new place or a new folder. Click on the new folder selection. Then simply enter the name of the new folder and click OK.
Think of your Folder names as your general headings. If you bookmark alot of sites with recipes or cooking articles, you could name a folder "Cooking" or "Recipes". Then when you click on the heart icon to save a site in your Favorite Places it will give you the option to place it in a folder and all you have to do is select your "Cooking" or "Recipes" folder and AOL will automatically put your link in that folder.
