Microsoft Word Beginning Lessons - Lesson 5 Using The Tool BarI would go ahead and show them the justify buttons if you don't feel they are getting overwhelmed. The justify buttons set the type to start on the left margin, center and right margin. I would have them type in the instructions as you give them for each justify button using that particular justify button. For example when you explain what the center button does have them double space and click on the center justify button and then type something like "the center justify button puts what I type in the middle of the lines." I would also go ahead and show them the spell checker too. However, I do have one word of caution here, do not show them the spell checker if they are going to be doing their spelling homework on the computer. You might end up with a kid who has perfect spelling study lessons and really bad tests. My son does his spelling on the computer and then emails it to his teacher so I'm always watching that spell check button. ;) I would stop here for this lesson. For those of you who have been following this series you know I stress not to overwhelm them. Overwhelming does more harm than good and makes the information so much easier to forget. Let them play with the functions you have taught them so far and see what wonderful treasures they come up with. Happy teaching!
