This is the first installment in a three-part series leading toward the creation of a Book-Buddy Program which involves older students in a younger student's reading achievements.
In this installment, we introduce our students to the project with worksheets and demonstrations in the following areas: Reading Activities: Students work together to brainstorm reasons that they should talk about books. Language Arts Lesson: Students begin to gain a solid appreciation for the goals of reading. Reading Worksheets: Students will discover their own reading interests, and compare/contrast them with the interests of their peers. The work of this installment is contained in a PDF document, ready for you to download, print, and implement in your classroom. The purpose of the activities and worksheets in this installment is to help students learn to enjoy good books, have interesting conversations, and increase their feelings of reading achievement. They will learn that they have a unique perspective worthy of sharing and - even more - growing. View and Download Part One here: http://www.suite101.com/files/topics/176... Go To Page: 1
