More Great Tatting Sites

© Paulette Dal Porto

There are tons of tatting web sites out there, but it's difficult for most people to investigate each and every site, a web search brings up. I've tried to highlight a few of the better sites out there.

Sharon Briggs. http://www.interlog.com/~gagechek/slb/in... Sharon has a great demo page with little videos to watch. I would definitely recommend this site to anyone who is trying to teach themselves to tat by book, and doesn't have anyone around who knows how to tat. Her Tatting Tips page is simple with a wealth of information, from how to read a pattern, to Hand Care. A very well-done, easy on the eyes website.

Muddler's Tatting Book Review Site http://www.fortunecity.com/westwood/stma... Michelle W, who has done some wonderful book reviews, maintains this site. I always enjoy reading about a book before I invest my hard earned money in a book. There is nothing worse than buying a book, and getting home and realizing it isn't at all what you wanted. Especially, since I buy most of my books through Amazon.com where I can't browse through the book.

Heidi Nakayama http://home.att.net/~nakayamas/ It was a joy to read Heidi's page. A wonderful website with great information for shuttle collectors. Links to some present day shuttle makers, along with links to suppliers, and other tatter's on the web.

Steph Peters http://www.sandbenders.demon.co.uk/tatti... Steph has a great little tutorial for cluny tatting and then a pattern to make a small motif using cluny tatting. Also her list of tatting terms is pretty handy for those new to tatting.

Dianna Stevens http://www.domesticarts.com/ I love Dianna Stevens website. Her mystery motifs are always fun to look and try to figure out just how she did it. She has some great patterns for your personal use. And her Special Features section brings us new ideas in tatting.
