Tatting and the Internet

Through the wonders of technology we are able to find just about any information we want on the Internet. This is, of course, how I found out about tatting, and reintroduced myself to tatting after a very long hiatus. One other great thing I love about the Internet is the ability to get just about anything I want delivered to my home.

I have not been able to find a good thread store here in San Jose, though I know there is a wonderful one in the Oakland/Berkley area. I just don't have the time to hassle with I80 and all of the horrible traffic to get to Lacis. So, I turn to the Internet. I have found a wonderful Internet Shop called Thread Express , and the owner Yvette is the most wonderful person I have had the pleasure to deal with. I have ordered thread and ribbons from Thread Express, and Yvette is so kind as to match the ribbon to the thread for me, since she is seeing the actual colors. It's worked out great for the bookmarks that I make. I also ordered a surprise package from her the last time I visited, and found a wonderful new silk thread to tat with.

The Internet has broadened my tatting horizons. I have been able to make new friends, learn new techniques, and find new threads to use. I feel like the whole world has been opened up to me with the Internet. And I think you will find that it will for you also. So, if you're looking for new thread, wanting information on a new technique, or just want to get some inspiration, please be sure to check out the links here on Suite101. Have fun.
