Twelve wishes for Christmas

© Gay Klok

On the first day of Christmas I wish my true love would give to me

Lots of viable Meconopsis seeds
That do not have to fight the weeds

On the second day of Christmas I wish my true love would give to me

Flowers forms on my aged Handkerchief tree
For all the World and Suite 101 to see

On the third day of Christmas I wish my true love would give to me:

A magic wand to send slugs to hell
And make my Hostas flourish well

On the fourth day of Christmas I wish my true love would give to me:

The weather less unreliable
So plants don't think that I'm the fool

On the fifth day of Christmas I wish my true love would give to me:

The weeds to know they all look pretty
And stop wildly spreading, without pity

On the sixth day of Christmas I wish my true love would give to me:

Trilliums that think they ARE a weed
And to the last said wish, give no heed

On the seventh day of Christmas I wish my true love would give to me:

Rosa "Albertine" that has no thorns
And leaves my limbs and clothes untorn

On the eight day of Christmas I wish my true love would give to me:

Strength and health to garden for ever
To garden with love and not have to be clever

On the ninth day of Christmas I wish my true love would give to me:

Insecticides dumped into some mythical sea
And leave pests a matter between plants and me

On the tenth day of Christmas I wish my true love would give to me:

Sun to shine on Open Garden Day
And the rain and tempests to stay away

On the eleventh day of Christmas I wish my true love would give to me:

Two turtle doves that the eagles don't see
And take away from poor, grieving me

On the twelth day of Christmas I wish my true love would give to me:

The Suite gardeners to come and eat peacock stew
And with that it's a Very Merry Christmas to you

Here are the November-December photos [be patient, graphic heavy] showing the country garden "Kibbenjelok" on Open Day at the end of November

Roses start and many other flowers bloom in the Town garden. Let's have a stroll around together by clicking here

We are a family of tradition so here is how the Kloks spent their Christmas last year and the year before and the year before that and in 1998 too! How the Kloks celebrate their Christmas Day
