In the Spotlight: Tarot Fool© Rose Wilcox Tarot Fool http://tarotfool.com/index.html Contact email: fool@tarotfool.com Type: Non-commercial I would choose Tarot Fool as my main recommended site for all those who want to find out more about Tarot on the web, beginners or experts alike, except for one flaw. It hasn't been updated since July and is missing many sites. Still the overall design is extremely usable, friendly, and light-hearted. The collection of sites linked to is informative and diverse, the overall content is top-notch, and the presentation can't be beat. So Tarot Fool is more than worth a stop on your cruise through Tarot-related sites. Home Page The start page for Tarot Fool is extremely attractive, using a copy of the Stick Figure Tarot's (by Lar deSouza) Fool card, an eye-catching logo, a white background, and a table of contents on the right. The contents include an introduction to the site, an introduction to Tarot, a getting started set of links, reading the cards, decks, books, tarot tools (software), online resources, "further foolishness", and links to get a reading from if you wish. The owner of Tarot Fool has been reading on and off for three years and does not pass him or her-self off as an expert, but has only gathered these resources for our reading pleasure. A Diverse Collection The "What is Tarot" set of links includes The Art of Tarot, The History of Tarot, and Personal Musings. All of which include sites I haven't found listed elsewhere, including The Arcana project at http://arcana.danann.net/ which has poems for each of the major arcana. Getting Started includes a Tarot Course section with seven online courses listed, as well as links on choosing a deck. The Reading the Cards section is truly yummy, including links to subjects such as divinatory meanings, spreads, elemental dignities, reversals, and other tips. Decks lists all the notable review sites, sites about making your own tarot decks, sites for about 200 specific decks, and sites for 3 publishers. Books could use some beefing up, but mainly because a few of the links are broken. The recommended reading lists linked to contain all you need to know and more. Online Resources could use some beefing up for email lists, but do make sure to check out the Other Tarot Sites links. Further Foolishness contains tarot accessories, jewelry, fun stuff, general divination, related studies (like astrology), symbolism, and Tarot and the senses. That last one is very promising but contains only two links, one to oils and one to music. Go To Page: 1 2
