Guidance and Outcome Readings for America

© Rose Wilcox

Like so many Americans, indeed so many citizens of many countries, I am deeply shocked and grieving due to the terrorists attacks on September 11, 2001.

Instead of doing my regularly scheduled review column, I have done two readings for America. One, based on one of my own layouts, I call it a "guidance reading" and the second is based on a Motherpeace layout. I have called it a "final outcome reading".

Guidance Reading

The first is of a layout that I personally use for self guidance, only modified for the reading. I have chosen cards from third different decks for this layout. The three decks are the Mandala Astrological Tarot for Trends, the Celtic Wisdom Tarot for advice for leaders, and the Motherpeace for advice for the people. I used a nine-position layout.

When I do this layout I use the center as the last or ninth card to synthesize all the other cards or to simply name the situation. I assign the four major issues to one each of the four directions (East, South, West, and North) then fill in related issues for the four combined directions (NE, SE, SW, NW). Usually I use this with my personal life; this is the first time that I have used it for my country.

1. Southwest - Allies

Trends - Sword Prince (left tilt)

Our allies are charming us with verbal skills, but they may be changeable. They will require diplomancy and action in order to remain our allies.

Advice for Leaders - The Soul (0)

Have respect for our purpose and have faith in America. In dealing with allies, emphasize new starts and trust.

Advice for People - 6 of Wands (right tilt)

We need to temper our rhetoric and remember humility. We have a right to have self confidence, but remembering to thank and appreciate our allies is important right now.

2. East - Foreign Policy

Trends - Wand King (Reversed)

The tendency is to impulsive, strong, courageous action. Unfortunately this leads us into a danger of being deceived and to appearing boastful and arrogant.

Advice for Leaders - The Challenger (IV) (Reversed)

Challenges are the opportunity for growth. We do have to understand our world, both allies and enemies. This understanding will bring us to our goals.

Advice for People - 4 of Discs (Reversed)

We have left our doors wide open. It is too late to close the barn door after the horse has run away. We'll need to catch the horse first, then shut the doors. In other words, don't be so jumpy. For now, concentrate on the matters
