If you're looking to add to your collection, start with a second deck to augment your learning, or even to purchase your first deck, buying online might be the way to go. The advantages of buying Tarot cards online are the same as any type of online shopping:

Obviously there are disadvantages. What you see may not be what you get, you do have to pay shipping costs, and, unless a site accepts checks, you often have to have a credit card.
You might want to purchase online if you fall into one or more of these categories:

If you use a credit card, you want to ensure you use a secure site. If you are asked to send your credit card information through email, make sure to break up the number into two separate emails. That will make it harder to intercept. If you are purchasing through a site that sells used wares, make sure that the deck is a new, shrink wrapped deck.
