Format Formatting your manuscript is very important. You want your manuscript to look professional. If it does, you will have a better chance of having a publisher reviewing it. Typing - Here is a list of questions that you need to ask yourself? (1) Have you checked your typing? Are there typing errors? Is the manuscript double spaced? Are the paragraphs indented? It is important to have your manuscript free of errors. This helps you as a writer as well. Your manuscript will look more professional, and you will present to the publisher that you took the time to edit your work before you sent it off. When your manuscript is full of errors, then you are showing the publisher/editor that you are an amateur. Your manuscript will probably be rejected. (2) Is your manuscript on professional looking printer paper? Are there smudge marks? When you are ready to print your manuscript, you need to make sure that you have new printer cartridge and good quality manuscript paper.
