Road Tripping: Part 1, Day Tripping

Change tub or a wet-bag for your wet wetsuit. A good idea is to get a cheap plastic tub you can stand in while you change out of your suit. That will help keep your suit clean and keep your car dry. There are also plenty of good wetsuit bags out there that won't leak all over you car. Or you can just learn the hard way. Surf paraphernalia. Wax, wax-comb, and an extra leash (you don't want a broken leash to end your session prematurely.) Wear loose comfortable clothing that feels good even when you're nice and salty. Stay in the water as long as you can, and then stay a little longer. Surf till you can physically surf no more. Clear your mind and max-out your body. Breathe deeply and surf courageously. At crowded breaks, feel the vibe in the water and work your way gradually into line-up. This is easier when you get there early. Keep your eye out for loud-mouthed assholes looking for trouble, they usually have friends with them. Look out for your friends, and smile at strangers. You are the vibe in the water. At unfamiliar breaks, follow someone else's lead into the water. Enter cautiously and
