Blasts from the Past: The Incredible Hulk and Captain America

But back to the cartoon. The stories of frail Steve Rogers, who volunteers as a test subject for the Super Soldier serum and becomes the mighty Captain America are fun to watch.

If you’ve never been able to read some of the classic tales in book form, here’s your chance to watch them up on the screen with minimal movement.

Looking back, I wonder how this limited animation kept me engrossed as much as it did. I think it’s because I loved superheroes, and it was still cool to see the characters I read about move (more or less) across the screen.

Sure, other cartoons looked better, but these were distilled to their basic elements. They were classic superhero stories.

And they had cool songs.
