the journalist method....from head to paper.(Quickie Method)

Well, you can't be a journalist unless you've got the skills. You still can't be a journalist if don't know how to use those same skills. Wait no further, the journalist's (common) method is here to save the day! Check for future articles on this topic!

1. Choose a topic. This step can be skipped if someone else is in charge of giving out topics (such as an editor). In some cases though, you may think of a story idea to be put in use. Think the topic out. Is it possible? If so, go on. If not, keep thinking!

2. Write a few pre-writing notes. Even if you have a topic, you still need to figure out where your story is going to go. For example, if you're writing an article on kites, are you going to write about people flying kites, the making of a kite, the art of kite flying? Pre-writing notes may help you figure out where to go with the story. Also note what sources and information you would need for the story.

3. Get some information. Journalism is all about reporting the facts, not what you know, so make sure you gather all the information you possibly can. Do this through research, interviews, etc. In any case make sure your information is accountable and accurate.

4. Start writing your article. Now that you've got the info, figure out what information to use and write the article. Remember that you do not need to always use every single piece of information you have in your story. Check back to your prewriting notes.

5. Revise/Edit This job can be done by editors, but you can do it yourself. You can either revise or edit first. If you revise look mostly at grammar and spelling, and if you edit look at content. When you figured out what you need to work on, rewrite it and repeat the steps until you're satisfied.

6. Wait until your article is published! Now that you did all the work, look forward to reading your great story!
