Conventions Are In The Air

Yes, it’s that time of year again where fans gather together en mass to celebrate and talk about their favorite sci-fi show. I am of course talking about Stargate Sg-1 and I have the low down on two of the best conventions to spend your time, money and energy in total fandom of the best sci-fi show on TV. So get ready to slap on the latex and don your favorite costume as I go through the events, guests and all the happenings at the cons.

First up and the most recent is GateCon a three day all out convention taking place in Vancouver Canada. The con runs from Sep. 20th through the 23rd and is generally considered to be the premier Sg-1 convention to go to on this side of the globe. With an impressive guest list and activities this is a must for any Sg-1 fan.

The Gatecon is also in talks to get Carmen Argenzianno (Jacob/Selmak), Erick Avari (Kasuf), Wil deVry and Christopher Judge (Teal’c).

The con will also be host to a Sg-1 costume contest and art show along with a bus tour of SG-1 filming locations. They will also be a contest drawing that for one lucky person will give them a day on the Sg-1 set and a chance to met the cast and more.

Includes entry to all events on all four days, including cocktail party and banquet, and guaranteed picture and/or autograph from Stars in participating sessions (official photographs not included in ticket price).

SUPERQUAD : $150
Includes entry to all four days. Photographs and autographs ONLY if time and Stars allow - no guarantees

DAY PASS : $50
Includes entry to the daytime events but NOT to autograph and photograph sessions.

For our seconded convention we go across the pond to merry old England for the Wolf Events. A monster organization of conventions for Sg-1, Voyager & Fiirstwave that happen all year round. This year Wolf Sg-3 will run from Nov. 2-4 at the Heathrow Park Hotel, London, England and will have the following guests:
