O’Neill and Dr. Jackson try to find out information about where they are from the young man. He tells Sg-1 that his name is Abu and that he grateful for the help, but Abu is quickly made uncomfortable when Cap. Carter and Teal’c return. Abu points out the fact that she is a woman and that he can not look upon her.

“She is a woman I must not look upon you.” – Abu

Soon others of Abu tribe show up and say that Cap. Carter must be killed for speaking in public. Carter is at a lose to understand what she has done wrong and asks Daniel for a advice on how to fix the situation. Just when it looks like SG-1 and the natives might get into a fight Abu’s father shows up and says that since Carter saved his son from the dogs she can not be killed.

“Daniel tell me what I have done so I can fix it.” – Sam Carter

SG-1 are then taken by Abu and his father into the village where they are invited into his home. They learn that Abu’s father is the leader among his people called the Shavadi and that women are forbidden to speak in public as well as show there face or wear the clothes of a man. He also explains that since Cap. Carter did know these rules and did not follow them that the only reason he was able to protect her was because she saved his son’s life when the dogs attacked. Cap. Carter then agrees reluctantly to dress in the tradition garb of the local woman to help along the mission and not cause and more situations like before.

“This dress or whatever you call it, I can’t move, I can’t walk.” – Sam Carter

While the male members of SG-1 are at a celebrations Carter was sleeping in a tent when she awakes with a knife at her throat. She is kidnapped by Abu and will be used in trade for something the young man wants. He takes her to the camp of his people’s enemy so that he may trade Carter for their leader’s daughter Nya whom he is in love with. This plan fails, as the leader Turghan will not trade his daughter to him but offers him gold instead. He reluctantly accepts the money and goes leavening Cater with Turghan.
