Summary:
A group of aliens comes through the Earth's Stargate killing four people and kidnapping another. Col. Jack O'Neill who first originally went through the Stargate is recalled to active duty. His missions is to track down the alien hostiles and bring back Dr. Daniel Jackson, (who was previous thought dead by the government) from the planet Abydos.
Joining the new team is Cap. Samantha Carter, a theoretical astrophysicist who had been studying the gate technology for two years prior to the original mission.
She is the expert on that Stargate and was assigned to Col. O’Neill’s team without his concern and despite his apprehension with scientist.
When the team headed by Col. O’Neill heads back to Abydos they discover Dr. Jackson and his wife Sha’re living in the Stargate temple guarding the Stargate against aliens. They soon find out that the Dr. Jackson , while on Abydos has discovered a map that show a vast network of Stargate all over the universe.
While Col. O’Neill, Cap. Carter and Dr. Jackson were examing the map the alien hostiles come through the Abydos gate kidnapping Daniel’s wife Sha’re and her brother Skarra, plus killing many Abydoians and SGC personnel.
Once they retreat back to Earth the decision is made to go after the alien hostiles and to try and rescue Dr. Jackson’s wife and brother. The are lead to the home world of the alien raced called Jaffa. They are servants/warriors of the aliens called Goa’ulds who impersonate their gods and are worshiped as so.
Col. O’Neill’s team, called SG-1 soon find that Dr. Jackson’s wife has been taken over by the Goa’uld and has become the wife of the alien know as Apophis.
Apophis’ soon imprison SG-1;s forces along with dozens of other who have been kidnapped from all over the galaxy.
The Goa’uld then take some of the people including Sha're and Dr. Jackson brother Skarra to become the children of the god’s. Apophis the commands his Jaffa to kill the rest of the people including SG-1.
Col. O’Neill manages to convince Apophis’s first prime and head warrior Teal’c to help him save all the people and escape. He quickly excepts and fires upon his own warriors helping them all to escape back to the Stargate and back to Earth.
