Annoying Star Wars Characters

Along the same lines, the Ewoks from Return of the Jedi were kind of silly. I liked the whole idea of teddy bear-looking primitives taking on fully-armed Storm Troopers, but overall they were a bit much to take. Especially the Ewok witch doctor/medicine man, or whatever he was supposed to be. At least R2-D2 gave him a few shocks in retaliation.

Now I have to make what will probably be a very unpopular confession. Yoda drives me crazy. For someone who's supposed to be so wise and so knowledgeable in the ways of the Force, he sure makes snap judgements. Look at how he treated Luke, and Anakin later (or earlier--darn prequels). And his voice--it grates on me. I love Frank Oz and his voices, but Yoda's gets hard to listen to after a while. Don't get me wrong. I think Yoda is an important and necessary character to the Star Wars saga, but the less he speaks, the better. Perhaps he should make more use of knowing glances and nods. One of my favorite parodies of a Star Wars movie was when the MTV Movie Awards put Lisa Kudrow and Andy Dick in the Jedi Council Chamber scene from The Phantom Menace. You had to see it to appreciate it.

I think my diatribe has gone on long enough. Please join my discussion and tell me if I'm full of it or if I've got a point. Sometimes I feel very much like Ellen DeGeneres, who wrote a book entitled, "My Point, and I Do Have One..." See, I'm off and rambling again. Catch me if you can, or, as Robin Williams said in one of his best known shows, "Keep up."

For me and others I have talked to - Jar Jar just didn't move right, there seemed to be something decidedly wrong with him. I know they tried to get it right, but if the movie-makers plan more CGI cha ...

Shelly... if I were on the Ricky Lake Show, I guess my words would have to be "You go girl!"

But since I'm not, I'll just say that I laughed out loud at your comments about Luke and Yoda. "Perhaps ...
