Very early on in Star Wars I got tired of listening to Luke whine and complain when he couldn't have his way. I realize it was all to illustrate how much he changes over the course of this movie, as well as the others, but it still bugged me.
And don't even get me started on Uncle Owen. If there was ever a guy in need of a good communications seminar, he was. He was gruff and short when he talked to Luke, and even to Beru, his own wife. We, the viewers, knew he was trying to protect Luke from something. We didn't know what at the time. But he could've been a little more forthcoming with the boy. His "I'm laying down the law"-attitude just steamed me.
Then there's "C-3PO, human-cyborg relations." How can a machine be such a pessimist? His maker must have been a really negative person. Oh, wait, his maker went over to the Dark Side and became the scourge of the galaxy. Well, that makes a little more sense now. All jokes aside, you have to admit, it does get old listening to C-3PO complain all the time. "We're doomed." "I'm done for, go on without me." "You put my head on backwards." Gripe, gripe, gripe.
That's about all I can think of in Star Wars. For now. Which brings me to The Empire Strikes Back, and my least favorite character of all the movies--Jabba's pet. Sorry, I'm not a rabid enough fan to know what its name is, or even what kind of creature it's supposed to be. But that psychotic, high-pitched laugh it made gave me a headache. I kept hoping Leia or Lando would grab it by it's little leash and choke it.
