This is an two-part interview with Kelly Henderson, Suite101.com editor of Follow Your Passions. Kelly will be sharing the secrets of following the passionate aspects of our lives. Too many times, we think of ourselves as victims, and not as overcomers. Kelly shows us how to follow our passions to live the life we were meant to be.
KT: What is your background? KH: When I was young I wanted to be a songwriter because it combined my two passions - music and writing - and I ended up doing everything but. I really expected to have a career in music but it didn't work out that way. I have a degree in English and I worked in offices for twenty years doing everything from data entry clerk to secretary. Because of my own experiences I was interested in learning more and understanding what holds so many of us back from embracing our true calling. I thought I could accomplish this by writing about it. I should say though, I have no training in counseling people and that is not my intention. We all walk our own roads and must make decisions for ourselves. My hope is that I can provide resources, relate some of my own personal experiences and that of others, and identify some techniques that will help people revive their dreams. KT: How can someone learn to follow his/her passion? KH: I think when you are ready for it you will find the courage to do it. In my case as I approached middle age I began to take a serious look at how I was Go To Page: 1 2
