  • Do not harass, abuse, or threaten other members. If a heated argument arises in your group, either ignore any unfair comments or respond in a way that doesn't fan the flames. If you must have an argument, take it off-list.

  • Do not post content that is obscene or otherwise objectionable.

  • Keep your messages short and to the point. When replying to a message, include only the portion of the original message that is directly related to your reply. Be especially careful if you receive digests. Make sure that you are not including the entire digest with your reply.

  • Try to stay on topic. If you want to discuss a topic that is not related to the group, move it off-list either by private e-mail or creating a new group.

  • Don't promote your group in other groups without explicit permission by the moderator.

  • Don't post copyrighted content without permission from the owner. Keep in mind that the written word is automatically copy-righted by the owner by virtue of him/her writing it.

  • Don't spam. This includes adding or inviting members you don't know or who have not given you permission to do, as well as distributing promotional materials, junk mail, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and related materials. Collecting personal information and e-mail addresses for marketing purposes is also a no-no.
