What is Square Dancing?

Wherever you travel, you can usually find a club, hosting a dance, in the vicinity. One such organization is Bachelors ‘N Bachelorettes International, a singles square dance organization. Married square dancers are also encouraged to join as associate members.

Annual square dance conventions can be found at the state, national and international levels. Conventions are a wonderful way to practice square dancing, learn new calls, buy square dance paraphernalia, and learn about other types of dancing, such as round dancing, contra dancing, line dancing, and clogging.

The best part about square dancing is the people you meet. Square dancers are children, singles, married couples, the elderly, and the wheelchair bound. The common denominator is friendliness and fun. Give it a try!
