Don't feel too sorry for the Big E. He decided to leave the Flyers. He also refused to play for the junior hockey team that drafted him. Oh, yes, he also refused to play for the NHL team that drafted him (Quebec, before they moved to Colorado). While sitting out this past season Lindros stated that he would only play for the Toronto Maple Leafs, thus tying Clarke's hands when it came to potential trades. Lindros has since softened on his "Toronto or bust" stance, but despite the constant rumours, don't look for a trade in the near future. If anyone could outlast Lindros in a staring contest marathon it's Bobby Clarke.

Lindros may not be playing NHL hockey before his 31st birthday, so please spare us from the daily name-calling and trade rumours that surround Eric Lindros and Bobby Clarke. Recent headlines about the Big E are more like the Big Z, as in Z-Z-Z-Z. Unless of course Eric Lindros's evil twin shows up to kidnap Bobby Clarke and replace him with a cyborg. Then Lindros could be traded, and the headlines could go back to over-hyping Seattle Mariners' outfielder Ichiro Suzuki, because these are the days of our lives...
