As we are almost upon the New Year, I figured I'd give you all a sneak peak at next year's sports car racing schedules. Fortunately for us, this year's schedule will take us from February through to December. Because of the number of events we'll look at, I've broken this article into two issues. Stay tuned for the second half.
Here are some things to look forward to in the first half of the year:
February:
March: A second race in March will start off the American Le Mans Series, once again in sunny Florida, this time at Sebring International Raceway on March 16th thru 19th.
April: First will be an appearance by the Grand-Am Series at California Speedway on April 1st thru 3rd. The race is scheduled to run 400 miles. The next race of the season will be our first chance to check out the Trans Am Series in actual 2005 racing. The series is heading to the streets of California for the running of the Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 8th thru 10th. The third race in April will come of the ALMS variety where the racers will see their first of two races at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia. This will happen the weekend of April 15th thru 17th. Taking us out of April and into May, will be the Grand Am Series cars for a 250 mile race at Mazda Raceway, Laguna Seca. This race is scheduled to occur from April 29th thru May 1st.
May: The other major sports car event in May happens that same weekend, in Lexington, Ohio. There the ALMS will take to the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course for a little action, and then race on May 22nd. Go To Page: 1 2
