The American Le Mans Series has released its 2004 season schedule, which consists of nine events running from mid March to mid October. All scheduled events this season are to be held in the United States, except for the one trip north of the border into Canada.

At first glance, it is clear the losses include the annual trek to Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, which will no longer take place. The Miami race has also vanished from the schedule, as well as the additional stop at Road Atlanta. Circuits such as Washington, Mexico City and Malaysia have not even been added to next years schedule.

The series will get underway in sunny Florida, for 52nd running of the Mobil1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. This race, to be held on March 17th to the 20th, will take the green flag at 10:30am on the final day, and has been for scheduled for broadcast on the SPEED Channel.

The next event in the schedule is to be held three months later on the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. After a one-year absence, the series will take to the track from June 25th to the 27th. CBS Sports is scheduled to broadcast the 2:45 minute race. The American Le Mans at Mid-Ohio will be run two weeks after the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans, held in France.

The third race of the season follows close after on the weekend of July 2nd to 5th. The series' first ever appearance in the Northeast, will take place at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut for an Independence Day weekend event. The SPEED Channel is scheduled to broadcast the 2:45 minute race.

The fourth stop on the American Le Mans Series circuit will be the Infineon Grand Prix of Sonoma, presented by Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa on the weekend of July 16th to the 18th. The track made history last season when a smaller LMP 675 beat the larger, more powerful LMP 900s. The 2:45 minute race is scheduled for broadcast on CBS Sports.

Mid season will be marked by the series' stop at Portland International Raceway in Oregon. After a two-year absence, the American Le Mans Series will return to the American Northwest for the weekend of July 23rd to 25th. The race is to be broadcast on the SPEED Channel and will be 2:45 minutes in length.

The sixth event of the season will be held north of the American border in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. The American Le Mans Series Grand Prix of Mosport will run from August 6th to the 8th and is to be broadcast by CBS Sports. The race is scheduled to run for 2:45 minutes.
