John Edward: Fabulous or fraud?

Also, to help others understand what I do, I often describe myself as a sort of "psychic answering service." That is, I'm just the person who gets the message, to repeat to someone else.

I like it that Mr. Edward is generally light and cheerful about his work. I raise an eyebrow at the psychics who make the messages into a profoundly moving and spiritual event. Frankly, when I receive messages, it's nothing spiritual; I just happen to be the person who's at the other end of the psychic phone line, figuratively speaking.

But mostly, I understand the terms in which Mr. Edward speaks. At times, there is a visual image or we can almost hear words spoken. However, this usually happens more on the level of knowing, or gut feeling.

Just as some people can say, "The phone is going to ring," and they're right, I sometimes say, "She's wearing a red hat like the Shriners," even when I am not actually visualizing the person. This is difficult to put into words, but, if pressed to explain it, I'll say that I "see" her when it's more an image I'm aware of, not one that I'm physically looking at.

So, it's not what John Edward says that convinces me that he's generally on the level; it's the way that he says it, the phrases he uses, and his attitude. He's not David Blaine, who puts on a tremendous magic act.

In my opinion, John Edward is genuinely delivering messages from the other side.
