Colorado State Board of Education

I have received several emails this week concerning pending actions by the Colorado State Board of Education. I was working on something else, but I began to see that these events are more important than I first realized.

My information came from Bob Seay at About.com

Resolution Against Psychotropic Medications

If this state does this, other states may follow. As a parent of two ADD children and a special education teacher this is a very drastic step. I have seen my own children go from failure to success when the their ADD was diagnosed and the combination of meds and behavior modification helped them. The behavior modification alone did not work. I have also seen difference like night and day in children I have taught. Meds are not always the answer - and I had to tell my girls several times not to expect the meds to do all the work. I would just hate to think where my daughter would be now if she had not had her meds.

More on this as it happens.

In case you want to keep an eye on events....
