...And she tore the stickers off

I have thought long and hard about the actions of this teacher and what the ripping off of the stickers and the crossing out of the 100 must have felt like to my baby. My heart aches when I think of her honesty that went unnoticed by a teacher who's only thought was in getting through those mandatory tests. The lessons that my child was taught by the teacher's actions are tremendous. I thank God that my child could tell me the story of what happened in her classroom yesterday so that I could implant the counter lessons. My daughter went to sleep last night secure in the knowledge that her honesty was more important than that one missed question on a test. This morning when she left for school, I put a sticker on her hand and told her that was her honesty sticker.
