What does Ebay have to do with Spanish?

I know it may seem like I'm stretching the topic a little bit, but I'm anxious to let you all in on something I've discovered in the last few months - "on-line auctions". Probably by now, a lot of you have already browsed or even bought items at on-line auctions. I got into auctions a little later than most. I had looked at prices for collectibles, but was really concerned about paying my hard earned cash to a person that I knew nothing about. My sister, who has been buying on Ebay for almost two years now, convinced me that so far the record has been unbeatable. She has always gotten what she has paid for, and she has greatly expanded her collections.

I got into on-line auctions slowly. I browsed around for several weeks until one night I hit on something that I "had to have". I registered and placed my bid. A little later, I received an outbid notice, so I hurridly re-placed my bid a little higher. I eventually won and became hooked.

Again, you may ask..what does this have to do with Spanish? Well, I began looking for items of interest to people learning Spanish. I was overwhelmed with some of the stuff they had to offer. I have added several Disney videos in Spanish to my collection with on-line auctions. Do a search for "Spanish" in either the books or movies categories and you will return (usually) a large number of hits. Looking for something specific? Type in your title, author, or artist name. I'm sure you will get some interesting results. I even ran across a "Chilindrina" (character from a Mexican family program) doll. I suggest you search at least once a week. New auctions open literally around the clock. Also, if a seller has a product similar to what you are looking for, contact him or her. So far, all sellers have been very helpful in trying to find what I'm looking for.

Here are some links to some more advice I have written about on-line auctions. Be sure to check them out. Also, if you have any questions...feel free to contact me!
