The Williams Kiwanis Club, in cooperation with the Maine Consolidated School Parent/Teacher Organization, is hosting the inaugural "Parks in the Pines 5K", May 1st, along historic Route 66 in Parks, located about 15 miles west of Flagstaff, Arizona.

Proceeds from the race will go to the Maine Consolidated School P.T.O. to support the education of pre-kindergarten through sixth-grade students in the Parks community.

The "Parks in the Pines 5K" will offer not only runners, but also joggers and walkers, the opportunity to experience the forested section of historic Route 66 in Parks. If the race is successful, they will consider adding a 10K and perhaps a 1/2 marathon course.

The fee of $20 includes both registration for the 5K and a t-shirt commemorating the event.

Registration for the "Parks in the Pines 5K" will begin at 6:30 am, May 1st, at the Maine Consolidated School. The race will begin at 7:30 am.

To register for the "Parks in the Pines 5K" or for more information, please call Kodi Mortensen at 928-635-1442.
