If you're not in the mood for a burger and fries, there's also the Corner Cafe, offering home-style cooking at $4.99 for a generous meal, and LG's Eatery, a little more upscale, but still delicious and inexpensive, with most items under $6.00.

All the shopping and eating made you tired? How about a night or two at a country B&B five minutes from town? Wisteria Inn is a newly-opened B&B named after the lush vines that grow on the front porch, shading the swing and rocking chairs from the hot Alabama sun. A bargain at $75.00 per night for two, the delicious breakfast can be customized to fit most needs and tastes. In good weather, you might want to eat by the pool. Be careful driving to the Wisteria; you don't want to hit one of the deer that live in the pine thicket by the house. For more information, call (256) 773-9703, or e-mail mailto:WisteriaBB@aol.com.

Hartselle is only 1-1/2 miles from I-65, about 30 miles south of the Tennessee line at Exit 328. It's about 70 miles north of Birmingham, and 30 miles southwest of Huntsville. When you exit the interstate, go west on Highway 36--that will turn into Main Street and your adventure can begin.

Contact the Hartselle Chamber of Commerce at (256) 773-4370, or e-mail them at mailto:hartsell@HiWAAY.net. They'll send you a neat packet of information.
