Crystal Spring Cleaning

If you don't have any stones, crystals, or gemstones where do you get them? There are lots of mall stores nowadays that sell polished stones. Look for one of those ecological nature stores and you'll find some. New Age stores have a better selection of them and, probably, with material on usage and vibration. You could also check out jewelry stores, gem and mineral outlets, and on-line shops. If you're adventurous, you could find a local Rock Hound club and go hunt the little beauties up yourself. When you get some - and stones are like Lays - you can't take just one, take them home and clean them. (HA! And you thought we'd never get around to the cleaning part of the program, didn't you?)

Even new stones, shiny as they can be, need to be cleaned. This isn't to banish any bogey spirits; it's to refresh the energies of the stone itself. The reason that you pick the stones you do is because you are drawn to its energies, so why on earth would you want to banish that? However, it has been dug up and handled by countless people, slammed around in boxes and bins with other stones. And all of this has stressed the stone out. So the reason you want to cleanse the stone or stones, is to de-stress it from all these other energies.

First, give the stone a nice bubble bath. Use any mild dish detergent and set the water to tepid, just like you would for a baby. Add a palm full of Sea Salt to the mix and stir it up. And set the stones in place. After a nice ten-minute soak, use a soft toothbrush or brush of some kind and gently scrub the stone to loosen up and grit that might be caught in the cracks and crevices. Now let them soak another five minutes or so, warming up the water if you have to. When that's done, drain the water and rinse off the stones thoroughly, then set them out to dry. A nice, sunny windowsill will do and will imbibe the stone with that warm energy.

I usually clean my stones on the night of the full moon, then set them on a sill where they can soak up the moon energies. Then I leave them in place till noon the next day so they warm up. At noon, find
