The throat chakra is next. It governs lungs, vocal chords, bronchial apparatus and metabolism. It is the center for expression, communication, and judgment and is often associated with hearing, tasting, and smelling. If you turn your mind to matters of giving and receiving, or speaking personal truth, you are accessing this center. Its color is blue. East Indian's call it Visuddha, or Pure. Element is Akasha. Its attribute is ego or I-ness. Its desire is solitude. And its activity is thoughts and ideas. Control issues are stored here, honesty, open expression, and any fears that you have about being able to receive Divine Guidance. The next time you try to ask the Powers that Be a question ask while your attention is here and see what happens.

The Third Eye center comes next, still spinning, forward or backwards - giving or receiving. This area governs the pituitary, lower brain and nervous system, ears, nose, and left eye. From, or through here we have access to information about our Spiritual Nature and psychism. We can tap into information about sight, conceptual understanding and carrying out our ideas in step by step process to accomplish them. Its color is indigo, but in some cases favors violet. East Indian's call it Anja. It is beyond all elements. Its attribute is transcending the senses and experiencing the god-self. Its desire is becoming a neutral observer. And its activities are mercy, forgiveness, and honesty. Here is wehre you turn your attention during meditation when you want understand any negative patterns of behavior that are always cropping up. For example, I'm always taking on more than I have time to do. The issue for me is the challenge, I don't like the idea that I CAN'T do everything. How dare me be limited! hahaha This is the place to learn about anything that is disempowering and a great place to explore any beliefs that you hold despite your knowledge that they aren't true. If you're an excuse maker, this is where you're acting up. And if you freak out whenever you learn something profound this is the area that's being intimidated.

The last chakra is the Crown and it externalizes as the pineal gland. Like the root chakra it sits flat so that it's top is facing skyward. It governs the upper brain and right eye. Here is one's direct connection to the Source. Here is Oneness and integration and spiritually evolving. Associated with direct knowing. Related to the integration of personality with spirituality. Its color is violet, but sometimes can be crystalline white. The East Indian's call it Sahasrara, or Thousand Petalled. It is here that one reaches the understanding of a Greater Reality than the physical senses perceive. When you're first learning to journey, or work with dreams, channel, or meditate, this is the place to open up first. If you've ever chosen one spiritual path, this is where you did it. If you're waiting for a miracle or the voice of god to fall out of heaven, this is the part of you that holds that believe and expectation.
