Introduction

Jan 30, 2001 - © Cheryl D. Tracy

There are as many methods of self-healing as there are personalities running around on the planet Earth. What works for one will not necessarily work for another and the deciding factors aren't only physical, they're mental, emotional, and spiritual as well. Seth, that personality that spoke out of Jane Roberts, might say it's a matter of personality and choice, as well as personal responsibility. Let me state up front that there is no magic pill, chant, or process that will instantly cure you of all ills and change your reality to something better or different in the blink of an eye. (Well, there ARE miracles, but they're few and far between from what I've been able to understand.) That's all right. Someone else can write about miracles, however; if I happen to experience any, I'll let you know!

Many of the things that will be covered on this site will have to do with healing in one form or another and it's important to state, at the onset, that you should never try any form of healing without consulting your health care practitioner. This is especially true if you're currently on medication of any kind. While meditation, crystals, Reiki, and other noninvasive treatments will not effect medicine, herbs will. Be responsible and research whatever method you decide to try. When it comes to herbs and essential oils and such there is always the chance of allergic reaction and safety precautions must be taken.

I am not a doctor or nor is anything I say to be construed as medical advice. What I offer here are alternatives, supplemental information, and ideas that you must think about, research, and then seek professional advice. I am not responsible for your health or what might happen if you try something without first investigating it fully. As an example, many people suggest that you drink a tea of valerian root in order to relax or sleep and it works for the majority of people. But 20% of the population lacks a certain enzyme in their stomach that is necessary for the proper metabolization of the herb. Instead of calming these people, it has the extreme opposite effect causing anxiety, panic attack, and racing heart. You won't know whether you are one of this 20% unless you try it and, there are ways to do that without running the risk of giving yourself a heart attack. Your healthcare professional can help you with this.
