Now become aware of your abdomen. Feel it tighten and shrink. Feel your abdomen as it was when you were five years old.

Now feel your chest. Feel your heart beat with the enthusiasm of a young child. Feel the sensation of fresh air being pulled into your lungs. Relax and enjoy the sensation of breathing. Feel your chest become smaller, until it is the size of a five-year old's chest. Feel your chest and heart and lungs as they were when you were five.

Become aware of your back. It will feel very relaxed and small. It has shrunk to the size of a five-year old's back, and all of the aches and pains you've accumulated over the years have slipped away. Become aware of your neck and let go of any tension. Let your back and neck return to the size of a five-year old's back. Feel your back and neck as they felt when you were five.

Become aware of your arms and hands. Feel your hands become smaller, until they are as small as they were when you were five years old. Feel your tiny fingers and small palms. Feel your hand and arms as they felt when you were five years old.

Now become aware of your face, your scalp, the bones of your skull. Feel them becoming smaller, until they are the size of a five-year old's head. As your skull shrinks, feel your memory expand. Feel your imagination grow. Relax into the memory of your five-year old body.

Take a few moments to enjoy the sensation of being five years old. Breathe deeply and feel your chest expand.

Now, with your eyes still closed, take a look at yourself. Examine your small fingers and toes. What are you wearing on your feet? What kind of clothes do you have on? Feel the clothes against your skin. You are five years old.

Now take a look around you. Relax into the memory of being five years old. It may be that you will remember a texture first, or a song. Perhaps you will see a scene in vivid color, or hear a few words of dialogue. Let your five-year old self choose the memory.

Say a few words and listen to your five-year old voice.

Stay inside your five-year old body and envision the setting. Where are you? You may remember colors or sounds, the shapes of buildings or trees. Picture the setting and live inside it for a few moments. Memories may awaken strong emotions, not always positive or happy ones. As you relive your memories, keep in mind that no matter what happens, you will survive.
