Review of the Crystal Crafting course at SuiteU
The first two lessons are devoted to a discussion of the Chakras. I especially found the illustration in Lesson One to be a handy guide to choosing crystals for working with particular chakras. Although I generally rely on my intuition, sometimes it's nice to have a few suggestions rather than having to sort through my entire collection of healing crystals for a particular issue. Lessons three and four were especially helpful, and introduced me to some techniques I hadn't tried before. In "Lesson Three: Getting Started," Darlene discusses ways of cleansing and empowering crystals, both of which are considered necessary for working with crystals. By clearing out any residual energy from the previous owner, as well as any who might have handled it in the shop where you purchased it. Empowering the crystal for your particular needs is also important, and Darlene offers a few ways to accomplish this. One step that is often neglected is giving thanks, and Darlene offers some suggestions for this, as well, including burning a candle to honor the stone spirit, burying a small pouch of tobacco, and giving the stone away to someone who needs it. Lesson Four is devoted to the actual processes of crystal crafting. Although I would like to have seen more detail and more techniques, Darlene offers suggestions for wire wrapping and macrame. Despite the title of the course, this is not the main focus. Instead, view this course as a good overview of healing with crystals, with a few suggestions for creating crystal jewelry. One concern I do have, which is not exactly related to the course, is that the Earth is changing. Crystals that may have worked for us in the past may not work as well now, or they may work in different ways. If we take a holographic view, then as the Earth changes, the crystals we already have in our possession -- those that have been removed from their home matrix -- should re-align themselves to the Earth's energy with each change. For healing purposes, this means that we need to use our intuition to choose the right crystal for a particular moment in time even if, according to our favorite texts, the color or stone is "wrong."
