A Review of Introduction to Alternative Healing Methods 101

Years ago, I realized that although I saw myself primarily as a writer, my true Soul path required more of me. Since then, I've worked on developing my abilities as a healer and a teacher, and have used these in combination with my writing. I feel that I am moving ever closer to the lifework that I chose for this incarnation.

I've been involved in Alternative Healing for several years, and have practiced different forms of energy healing, including Magnetic Therapy, Reiki, Seichim, and Ki Manna. I began my energy work, however, with techniques I developed intuitively, and have spent the past few years getting a more "traditional" education in a wide range of techniques. I'm always looking for something new that I can offer my clients, and Jodi Wethrup's Introduction to Alternative Healing Methods 101 has given me several new tools.

In the past, I haven't done a lot of work with color on its own. I've done a bit with chakra healing, and am working with gems and crystals more often, but I had never looked at using color by itself. Using Jodi's suggestions, I have begun bathing in color, and have tried the Color Breathing exercise to help myself sense and (sometimes) see the colors more clearly. Since I'm not always very visual, I've relied more on sensing the energies of different colors, but these techniques have opened up my ability to see the colors on a more regular basis. I haven't yet tried making Color Infusions, but I'm looking forward to seeing how this adds to my perceptions and sensations with a whole rainbow of colors.

In the Chakra Balancing lesson, I learned a technique I hadn't run across before: Personal Energy Transference. I did this after using the exercises to energize and balance my own chakras, and I did feel that I had become more sensitive to the energies in the chakras of others. Jodi's method helped me to clear out some rather stubborn blocks in one person, and I'm looking forward to using these ideas with other friends and clients.

Last year, I took a good course in Aura Work, but because I'm not particularly adept at visualization, and am more clairsentient than clairvoyant, I haven't done a lot of work with auras. I had actually taken the class with my 11-year old son (now age 12) because he's always been able to sense people's energy in terms of color, but I wasn't able to teach him much because I didn't sense energy in the same way. Using some of the suggestions Jodi gives, I feel that I'm developing my ability to sense the aura more clearly, and I've found the Aura Massage technique to be particularly useful.
